“The difference between pain and paint is just one little t”- Glennon Doyle
The ROHO Project, based in Toronto, Canada, aims to bring beauty into the lives of women and children who have been impacted by domestic violence and trauma. ROHO, which stands for “Room of Her Own”, recognizes the significance of having a space that feels not just safe but also beautiful to come home to at the end of each day. We work together to create ROHO packages for clients and their families who are transitioning from the shelter system into their own homes. Every dollar goes towards providing clients with gift cards to different home improvement and home decorating stores. This gives our clients an opportunity to choose items that are just right for their new home. We also promote the healing power of DIYing, so craft supplies, paint, wallpaper, and “making a mess as you make it beautiful” are all encouraged. By supporting ROHO, you give each woman (and her children) the opportunity to create a Room of Her Own.
